Another boiler installation complete this week.
We had to carefully remove a large Baxi Maxflow storage combi – it was heavy, awkward, and a real challenge to get out of the space. We replaced it with a Baxi 836 Combi 2, offering:

- 10 year manufacturer's warranty ✅️
- System flush ✅️
- Wireless thermostat ✅️
- Adey Magnetic system filter ✅️
- Better efficiency ✅️
- Lower energy bills ✅️
- A more compact solution for our customer ✅️

We also upgraded the gas supply pipe to 28mm to ensure optimal performance of the new boiler. This wasn’t just a simple swap – it was a job that required skill, precision, and teamwork.

Here we have some pictures from a recent Powerflush we carried out.

The customer reported the following symptoms:

- Noisy boiler/central heating system
- Regular costly breakdown repairs
- System slow to heat and cold spots on radiators
- Some radiators not heating at all
- Reduced efficiency and increased fuel bills

The Powerflush machine removed all the sludge build up from the system.

The system water is now completey clear, a chemical inhibitor has been added and an Adey clear water certificate was issued.

The customer now benefits from the following:

- Full heat restored to all radiators with much quicker heat up times
- Redcued risk of costly breakdowns
- Increased efficiency and reduced fuel bills
- Quieter boiler and heating system with increased life span
- Valid boiler warranty and careplan

Upgrade season is upon us.

7 Hive thermostats installed this week.

Here we have a hot water and multi zone heating set up which allows the customer to set their hot water requirements along with independent control of upstairs and downstairs heating zones.

You can control it on the Hive device, via an app, or even with your voice, and get alerts if you accidentally leave it on when you head out.

Here is some pictures of a recent install we carried out in a large property in Dennistoun.

The customer had been quoted crazy money to upgrade from a combi to a system boiler with an unvented hot water tank. With 2 bathrooms in the property, an unvented tank is not necessary and we went for a Worcester 8000 40kw combi boiler. This will be able to deal with the 2 bathrooms and 20 radiators in the property.

The existing boiler was hidden in the kitchen behind the worktops and cabinets making it extremely difficult to get to.
We installed the new boiler in the basement and the pipework was altered to allow for multi zone heating control.

✅ Worcester 8000 40kw with 12 year manufacturers warranty
✅ Magnetic filter fitted and chemical inhibitor added
✅ Full new 28mm gas supply to boiler
✅ Multi zone installation allowing separate control of upper and lower floors
✅ Smart Hive Thermostat
✅ Magnacleanse system to remove dirt/debris from central heating circuit

Recently we have had a lot of jobs where we have been asked to give a second opinion after the customer has been told they need to replace their boiler.
There seems to be a a lot of companies who specialise in the "You're gonna need a new boiler" chat, without actually carrying out a repair.
This week we had 3 of these jobs- a slow running fan on a Baxi, a leaking diverter on Main and a leaking return manifold on a Worcester. All were diagnosed and repaired easily.

At SA Heating we will always do our best to repair the boiler first. There will be times where the boiler may be beyond economical repair and its only then that we would discuss replacement options.
