WHAT A WEEK! We’re not over it!

The One ABM Conference & Awards 2025 was an incredible day.

From hearing global insights from Sean Mahoney and our UK&I leadership team to the thought-provoking lessons from James Kerr, the energy in the room was palpable.

This is our third event. Year one was focused on becoming One ABM, the second year the theme was to accelerate growth, and this year was about how we become a high performing team.

Here’s to having the right MINDSET and the right CULTURE to deliver the highest PERFORMANCE.

This week, over 100 of ABM’s leaders made their way to Twickenham Stadium for the third annual conference, hearing from Richard Sykes, Senior Vice President and President for the UK&I, Simon Barnes, Vice President Sales & Marketing UK&I and Sean Mahoney, ABM’s Executive Vice President and President of Sales & Marketing, who shared insights on strategy, growth, and the future of ABM.

A highlight of the day was our guest speaker, James Kerr, author of Legacy, who shared powerful lessons on leadership, team culture, and leaving a lasting impact. Themes at the heart of everything we do at ABM.

The day concluded with our award ceremony, recognising the incredible contributions of team members who have excelled, delivered on our strategy, and truly embody the ABM values.

Last month, we welcomed Jennifer Byrne-Smith,Customer Operations Director and Pete L., Chief Operating Officer from Manchester Airport to join us as we hosted our final regional roadshow.

ABM has been working with Manchester Airport for many years and this session gave us the chance to reflect on the journey we’ve travelled together from the operational challenges we’ve overcome, to the innovations and efficiencies we’ve introduced across the airport environment.

During the fireside discussion with Jim Niblock, ABM Managing Director, we recollected on the shared successes that have shaped our long-standing relationship, highlighting the standards of operational excellence our teams deliver to enhance passenger experience, safety, and service quality.

A huge thank you to Jennifer and Peter for joining us, and for the continued trust Manchester Airport places in ABM. Partnerships like this are at the heart of what we do and demonstrate the exceptional customer retention and long-term value we strive to deliver.

Congratulations to our SVP and President for the UK&I, Richard Sykes, on being featured on INvolve - The Inclusion People’s Top 40 list of OUTstanding Advocates and Role Models for the second year running.

The 2025 list recognises and celebrates leaders who are using their platform, power and influence to drive inclusion for their LGBTQ+ colleagues.

Richard is a passionate advocate for LGBTQ+ inclusion. He played a key role in launching ABM’s Rainbow Group, organising Pride Celebrations and creating safe spaces for LGBTQ+ team members. Externally, Richard has championed ABM’s involvement in LGBT+ in FM, promoting inclusion across the facilities management sector. His leadership has created cultural change within ABM and the broader industry.

These global Role Models are setting the standard for strong, active allyship in business and are spearheading initiatives to ensure that LGBTQ+ employees can thrive in their careers.

Today is Carers Rights Day. A day to raise awareness of the rights that the UK’s 5.8 million unpaid carers are entitled to, and to help them get the support they need and the recognition they deserve.

At ABM, we’re committed to supporting our carers and helping them access the information, community and tools they need. One of those tools is Jointly - an app which helps carers create a circle of care for the person they are looking after.

ABM has been awarded two new ISO - International Organization for Standardization accreditations: ISO 14064 and ISO 27001.

These accreditations reflect the strength of our ESG strategy and our ongoing commitment to operating responsibly, transparently and securely.

ISO 14064 – Providing a globally recognised framework for quantifying, monitoring, and verifying greenhouse gas emissions

ISO 27001 – The industry benchmark for managing information security to the highest standard.

Why do our partners choose us? That’s what we asked Myles Grima, Head of Operations and Service at Edinburgh Airport, at the Scottish leg of our regional roadshow tour.

This year, at our regional roadshows, held across the UK and Ireland, we invited our customers to join us. This gave us insight into what we’re excelling in and areas where we could improve to make our level of service even better.

Please welcome Kelly Parish as our new Vice President, Transport & Aviation UK and Ireland.

The appointment supports our plan to build on our aviation stronghold through a more integrated service offering, while expanding further across the broader transport sector.

Kelly joins our senior leadership team, led by Senior Vice President & President for UK and Ireland Richard Sykes, succeeding Jim Niblock, Managing Director for Transport & Aviation who will retire after a career spanning over 30 years; seven of which leading ABM’s aviation presence into 17 airports, and over 40 airlines.

Bringing 15 years of experience in Transport, Aviation, and Integrated Facilities Management, Kelly will play a key role in delivering ABM’s growth strategy in the transport sector. Richard Sykes, Senior Vice President and President of ABM UK and Ireland, says: “Kelly joins us at a pivotal time in our company’s history.

Her extensive industry credentials will ensure we continue to deepen ABM’s presence in our chosen sectors while evolving our world-class service.”

Today is England’s first-ever national celebration of Mental Health First Aiders. These are the people having life-changing and life-saving conversations every day.

Across workplaces and communities, MHFAiders are stepping up, speaking up, and supporting others with confidence, skill, and care. This is the MHFAider effect.

We have over 150 Mental Health First Aiders in our business who are supporting mental wellbeing which is just as crucial as physical health.

From spotting early signs of stress or anxiety to providing a listening ear and guiding someone who is struggling, to the right support. Our Mental Health First Aiders play a vital role in creating a safe, supportive environment for everyone.

Mental health is everyone’s business, and investing in awareness and support helps us all thrive both at work and beyond.
