CONTRACT AWARD 🏗️

Following the successful delivery of a similar project for our client in Wales last year, we are delighted to announce that Blackrock Construction have been awarded the contract for the Project Management and Refurbishment of Bridge House student accommodation in Glasgow.

The works will include the refurbishment of:

• 128 student bedrooms
• 21 shared kitchens
• Associated communal areas throughout the building

This project will see the building upgraded to provide modern, high-quality accommodation for students in the city, and we are looking forward to working closely with the client and project team to deliver another successful project.

It is always rewarding when a client returns following a previous successful collaboration, and we appreciate the continued trust placed in our team.

🚧 IT’S COMING SOON!!!! 🚧

Our Interior Designer Gillian Docherty dishing out instructions to the team as we begin the fit-out of our new offices.

We’re delighted to share that we have purchased the former Soave’s Ice Cream Factory in Muirhead, and with our building warrant now in place, works are officially underway to transform the space into something special.

This project will involve:

✔️ Full strip-out of the existing offices and factory
✔️ Complete refurbishment
✔️ Creation of a modern, beautifully designed office environment
✔️ Dedicated workshop and storage facility

As our team continues to grow and our projects expand across Scotland and beyond, it felt like the right time to create a headquarters that reflects who we are and where we’re heading.

It’s an absolute pleasure working alongside Gillian — her vision and passion for this project are second to none.

We’re excited to bring that vision to life.

THE LONG AND WINDING ROAD 🚗💨

It was a long day on the road for our Directors, Andy and Ian, as they headed north to the far-flung town of Turriff in Aberdeenshire for a meeting on the proposed new Banking Hub for the area.

Travelling the length and breadth of the country is all part of the job as we continue to support and be involved in the rollout of banking hubs in communities that genuinely need them.

It’s especially encouraging to see existing buildings being repurposed and brought back into meaningful use — providing vital, face-to-face banking services and helping town centres thrive once again.

Another great example of community-focused solutions in action. 👏

CONTRACT AWARD!!!

Blackrock Construction is delighted to have been appointed to project manage and carry out the strip out and creation of the new Banking Hub in the historic town of Linlithgow.

This workstream an exciting national initiative designed to improve access
to everyday banking services on the high street and this award follows on from our successful completion of projects in Banff & Alexandria last year.

A Banking Hub is a shared space that brings together multiple financial
institutions under one roof. Operated by the Post Office, each hub
provides counter services where customers of all major banks and
building societies can carry out routine transactions, five days a week.

In addition, hubs feature a Community Banker service—a rotating
schedule of in-person support from different banks. This allows
customers to speak directly with their own bank about more complex
matters such as mortgages, loans, or financial planning. Community
Bankers are typically selected based on the largest local customer base.

This initiative offers Blackrock an excellent opportunity to showcase our
expertise in project management and our proven track record in
delivering high-quality retail environments on time, even within
challenging timeframes and complex logistics.

As we reflect on what has been a tremendously successful year for Blackrock Construction, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our clients for their continued business, trust, collaboration, and partnership.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to our subcontractors and suppliers for their ongoing support throughout the year.

Finally, our Directors, Ian and Andy, would like to personally thank our dedicated and committed staff for their hard work and commitment over the years. Your drive and ambition have played a key role in shaping the future of the company.

Please note, our office will close on Friday 19th December and reopen on Monday 5th January 2026.

Another Successful Handover! 🎉

This week, we were thrilled to attend the official reopening of the M&S store in Haymarket Station after spending the past four weeks project managing and delivering the full fit-out refurbishment for our valued client, The AB Group.

A huge shoutout to our site team and trusted subcontractors for their hard work, commitment, and attention to detail. Thanks to their efforts, we handed over a high-quality project on time — and one we’re incredibly proud of.

And to top it all off, our Director, Ian Osborne, even managed to get a photo with Percy Pig! 🐷📸
