ACE Winches are officially an approved Young Person’s Guarantee employer!

The Young Persons Guarantee is a Scottish Government initiative to ensure all young people aged between 16 and 24 have a place in employment, education or training.

With the support of our local DYW group Developing the Young Workforce North East and during , there is no better time for us to pledge our support and highlight our continued investment in young people and our future workforce.

We are proud to continue to support young talent here in Turriff.

Over the last 30 years, we have recruited over 300 young apprentices and graduates, providing them with training through our award-winning and programmes.

We understand the importance of investing in our future workforce. In the North East of Scotland and beyond, we are fortunate to have the involvement of colleges and universities that are all dedicated to preparing our youth for a future in the industry.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT 👏

ACE Winches Operator, Iain, and his family organised a charity ski-athon in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. After learning about their dad's cancer journey, Iain's three young boys came up with the idea and wanted to help support other families who have been diagnosed.

At the end of July, they hit the slopes at Alford Ski Centre for over 3 hours and raised an incredible £1900. They hope to make the fundraiser an annual event, to raise more funds and awareness.

Huge well done to Iain and his family - we are proud to support our colleague and his fundraising efforts.

AHOY PORTSOY! ⚓️

ACE Winches are delighted to be supporting this year’s ACE Winches Scottish Traditional Boat Festival in Portsoy, as headline sponsor.

The event takes place on the 1st and 2nd of July at the town's historic harbour.

Our Founder and Chairman, Alfie Cheyne, says, “I am delighted Her Royal Highness will visit Portsoy and open this year’s festival. The event tells the Northeast’s maritime story in a very special way. It blends traditional boats with exciting sea-borne activities, crafts, Scottish food and drink, and live music, bringing together the whole community for what promises to be a great weekend, celebrating its 30th year.”

A few members of are attending the Buckie High School Renewables Careers Fayre today.

They will be on hand to chat with S3-S6 pupils from Buckie High and Keith Grammar School about renewable energy, the transition to net zero, careers for school leavers, and the sustainable practices we implement here at ACE Winches.
