Across the Carter group of businesses, we have been deeply saddened by the announcement of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Mrs Pam Scott, the daughter of our founder Mr John Carter DFC, has issued a statement which we would like to share.

"I thought I should acknowledge, with thanks, the huge part Her Majesty the Queen has played in this country, the Commonwealth, and the world at large.

I have never spoken with her but like many of you, she has been a constant presence throughout my life. During the War, I was taken as a young girl to Buckingham Palace when my father was presented to her father the King. I also went with my parents and watched her coronation procession from The Mall.

As she served this country with huge dedication and devotion, she helped to make it a better and happier place. A lady of deep personal faith who somehow united us all.

On behalf of all at Carters I offer our sovereign King Charles and his family our sincere condolences and thanks".

Leading a team of permanent and agency personnel, assisting in the delivery of production capacity and efficiencies, ensuring the product is despatched on time, in full, and exceeds customers’ quality requirements, whilst maintaining health and safety standards.

Job Tasks

• Ensure operators complete required documentation, providing assistance where necessary

• Ensure departmental documentation is completed during the shift (i.e. OCS sheets, First Off/Last Off Sign Off, OTIF Sign Off)

• Be first port of call for operators to raise issues

• Liaise with Quality Department on suspected quality-related issues

• Ensure operators comply with statutory H&S rules and regulations

• Assist in accident investigations

• Conduct risk assessments

• Identify and report areas for improvement, to next in line and H&S Manager
• Carry out local inductions, ensuring new operators are immediately aware of their H&S responsibilities, and comply with all legislative and Company procedures

• Control manpower to ensure case builds, and hourly targets are met or exceeded

• Communicate information fluently to the team, using easily understood terminology

• Assist in the training and development of operators, in line with business requirements, i.e. as identified on a skills matrix

• Informally address capability and conduct issues within the immediate team

• Attend counseling/support log meetings with Section Leaders, in an observatory capacity

Managing a team of permanent and agency personnel, delivering production to a plan that is on time and achieves or exceeds quality and customer requirements. Assumes ownership for driving specific improvement activities within areas of responsibility.

Job Tasks

• Liaise with Quality Department on suspected quality-related issues

• Assist with problem-solving teams and exercises, producing effective solutions

• Identify opportunities to reduce costs and implement solutions where feasible

• Manufacture and deliver product as per agreed production plan to ensure Company targets are met

• Set and measure daily/ weekly output targets for the team

• Lead daily cell meetings to highlight and resolve any issues within area of responsibility including delivery, EHS, quality or staff related topics

• Work closely with supporting functions to ensure the cell team is able to meet operational targets and continuous improvements

• Lead/ train/ mentor team using Lean manufacturing techniques

• Ensures contingencies are in place to cover for planned and unplanned events, e.g. absences, holidays, training, machine breakdowns etc

• Manage directly and indirectly investigation, disciplinary and grievance processes in line with Company procedures

• Manage work-based projects through to successful completion

Job Tasks

• Liaise with clients on a regular basis to undertake reviews of all activities and is proactive in ensuring problems and client queries are resolved at the earliest opportunity

• Take full responsibility for managing the customer relationship

• Assume the responsibility for improving sales turnover and profitability of the account

• Oversee the tendering and raising of projects in conjunction with the dedicated Account Support

• Undercover any upselling opportunities with existing clients and support the Sales Department with any new business sales opportunities in-line with increasing company turnover and customer base

• Manage financial information and review projects to provide accurate forecasting and margin delivery

• Work closely with support structure behind all accounts to develop a seamless process to support delivery

• Support Production Planning functions to ensure that accurate visibility is given regarding customer delivery expectations

• Respond to complaints and resolve issues to customer contentment and the preservation of the company’s reputation

• Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and monitor cash flow for projects

• Follow up with clients, when necessary regarding unpaid invoices
