We have recently completed a second storey extension and internal renovation to a beautiful grade two listed cottage in Buckland.

Working alongside the talented team at .architects we were able to bring their designs to life.

Our client wanted to add a bright and airy entrance hall, new downstairs shower room, utility room and study and on the second floor an additional bedroom, bathroom and opened up the landing area.

We restored the original heritage windows to the front of the property and the timber porch and installed bespoke made timber windows to the extension. We were able to salvage the original stonesfield slates to use on the extension and porch.

Creating outdoor spaces that feel as good as they look.

Our client wanted to redesign their garden to bring character and personality. Working alongside Glj-services we used natural stone to add a higher level seating area, planting area and outdoor lighting to transform this space.

We are seeking experienced, reliable self-employed carpenters to work on a range of residential and commercial projects. The role involves high quality carpentry work delivered to agreed specifications, deadlines, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
* First and second fix carpentry
* Installing doors, frames, skirting, architraves, and staircases
* Kitchen fitting and bespoke joinery
* Reading and working from drawings and plans
* Measuring, cutting, and installing materials accurately
* Maintaining a clean, safe, and professional work environment
* Liaising with site managers, contractors, and other trade

Requirements
* Proven experience as a carpenter or joiner
* Self-employed status (UTR number required)
* Own tools and transport
* Strong attention to detail and workmanship
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
* Knowledge of health & safety regulations
* Public liability insurance (required)

Desirable Skills
* Experience in domestic refurbishments or new builds
* Ability to undertake bespoke or high-end finish work
* Good communication and problem-solving skills

It’s the little details that make all of the difference. Our client wanted to remove the concrete column supporting the two steels in the kitchen to open up the space and add a skylight to give the space more light.

Once we had removed the old steels and column we added a nine meter supporting steel. We brought the natural reclaimed Cotswold stone wall down to infill the steel, then wrapped the base in reclaimed oak which was custom cut and scribed. The timber is over 100 years old, full of knots, cracks and a story. The end result has completely transformed the space, bringing warmth and character to this kitchen/living area. We always enjoy using timber that has history and giving it another lease of life.

We’re looking for a skilled and reliable multi trade builder to join our growing team on a self-employed basis. You’ll be working on a range of domestic and light commercial projects, from property refurbishments to extensions and general maintenance work.

About the Role:
You’ll carry out a wide range of building and repair tasks, including (but not limited to):
* Carpentry, plastering, tiling, and basic plumbing

This downstairs renovation was all about making smarter use of space, not just adding square footage. We reconfigured the layout by moving internal walls, added a modest extension to create better flow, and incorporated built-in storage to keep things functional and clutter-free.
