📣 We are excited to announce that Owlstone Medical has been awarded up to $49.1M from ARPA-H for our project within the POSEIDON program, a groundbreaking initiative to develop the first at-home multi-cancer early detection test (MCED).

Throughout this program, we are proud to collaborate with Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston University, Georgia Tech Research, Qurin, and Planned Systems International.

Why does it matter? Nearly 40% of Americans will face cancer in their lifetime. Detecting it early not only saves lives but could also reduce healthcare costs by trillions of dollars.

Ovarian cancer is the sixth most common cancer worldwide among women in developed countries and the ninth in developing countries.🌐

Symptoms can occur at all stages of ovarian cancer; however, they are usually nonspecific and can also occur in females without ovarian cancer.

📑 A study investigated the possibility of easily and non-invasively detecting and discriminating females with ovarian cancer from females that have no tumors and from females that have benign ge***al tract neoplasia, using exhaled breath samples.

Analysis of breath samples found that decanal, nonanal, styrene, 2-butanone, and hexadecane could serve as potential volatile markers for ovarian cancer.🌬️

📑 We recently published a paper, 'Development of a new breath collection method for analyzing volatile organic compounds from intubated mouse models', which you can view here: https://ow.ly/jVBb50UrSJG

In our new case study, we detail the new method for collecting breath from intubated mice and cover the results from this paper.

472 compounds were found in mouse breath, with 49 common compounds identified between mouse and human breath.🌬️

These compounds were linked to suspected biological functions, such as gut microbiota metabolism.

Introducing Owlstone Medical - transforming healthcare for all using Breath Biopsy®.🌬️

At Owlstone, we are on a mission to save 100,000 lives and reduce healthcare costs by revolutionizing disease diagnosis and treatment.

Our Breath Biopsy technology provides a non-invasive way to identify disease-specific biomarkers in exhaled breath, unlocking new possibilities for earlier and more accurate diagnosis and treatment.👨‍⚕️

Did you know that the air we breath out contains information about our health? By analyzing volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in exhaled breath, we can detect conditions such as cancer, liver disease, and asthma at their earliest stages.

Early disease detection not only improves patient outcomes but also reduces the financial burden on healthcare systems worldwide.💰

We are working towards a future where non-invasive breath tests are an integral part of healthcare, enabling early and precise diagnosis, personalized treatment plans, and more effective disease monitoring.💪

Through our collaborations with leading healthcare organizations and pharmaceutical companies, including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), we are striving to make a difference with breath analysis.
