Happy Wiltshire Day!

Why not pop along to Wiltshire Crafts of Lacock and see my lovely selection of work? Whether you are looking for a keepsake gift to remember your visit - a keyring, necklace or practical coat hook perhaps - or something more purposeful like a log roller for your garden fire pit or kitchen rail for your pans and utensils, you are guaranteed a warm welcome. The shop is a co operative run by local artisans from Lacock and the surrounding area of Wiltshire and I am proud to have been a member for over 30 years now🥰

I’ve been enjoying the cooler weather and forging ahead with my current commission. Although it’s been an upsetting day… 😮😂

Upsetting is the process whereby you heat the steel and hammer it back into itself, thickening the diameter of the material.

Just another day in the life of a blacksmith… 😄

So all the fun of the festival is over and it’s back to work…

(Of BBC Antiques Roadshow fame if you think his face looks familiar… he interviewed me for a magazine article and enjoyed a session at the fire, forging his own hook which he tells me he still has 😁👍)
