We helped a local social club recover £32,961.46 from a mis-sold energy contract.

Hidden charges.
Locked in until 2032.
£800 extra per month.

They knew something wasn’t right, they just didn’t know how to fix it.

We built the case, challenged both broker and supplier, and took it all the way through.

The result:
£7,900 refunded
Contracts cancelled
£25k+ saved going forward

If something doesn’t feel right with your energy contract, it probably isn’t.

Always happy to take a look 👍

Most businesses only discover a problem with their energy contract when the bill suddenly jumps.

By that point, the contract has usually rolled out of term or renewed on rates that aren’t competitive anymore.

A few simple checks before renewal can make a big difference.

In this post I’ve shared three common mistakes we see businesses make when reviewing their energy contracts.

They’re easy to avoid once you know what to look for.

If you’d ever like a second pair of eyes on a contract before renewing, feel free to get in touch - happy to help.

💡 Save this post for when your contract renewal comes around.

Great to be working with the team at 🦎🐠

We recently helped them review their energy contracts and secure more competitive rates - always nice to support a local business and make sure they’re not paying more than they need to ⚡

It was actually my first time inside the shop since I was a kid and I was blown away by the fish setup they have downstairs. The care and knowledge in there is incredible - true masters of their craft 🐍🏆

Proud to be working with such a great local business right here in Urmston.

Energy contracts aren’t always straightforward.

Rates change.
Renewals get missed.
Billing errors happen.

We work with local businesses across Urmston and Trafford to manage their energy properly - from procurement and renewals to sorting out supplier disputes when things go wrong.

Quietly working in the background so owners can focus on running their business.

If you ever want a second pair of eyes on your energy contracts, feel free to drop us a message. 🤝

⚡ Energy Market Update – March 2026

Energy markets have moved this week following tensions in the Middle East.

Wholesale gas is currently trading around 4.2p per kwh, while wholesale electricity is around 10–11p per kwh.

Once network charges, environmental levies and supplier costs are added, typical business contracts in the market right now are roughly:

🔥 Gas ~5p – 7p per kwh
⚡ Electricity ~25p – 30p per kwh

Interestingly, we still have access to some supplier pricing from last week, meaning electricity contracts are currently available from around 21p – 25p per kwh, depending on meter type and usage.

☎️ When markets move like this it often triggers a spike in cold calls to businesses. The best approach is always to take a bit of time to understand your options and seek proper advice before renewing.

📩 If you’re unsure when your energy contract ends or want a quick sense-check of your options, feel free to get in touch.

And that’s a wrap on 2025 🎉

This year we:

• Grew our annual energy portfolio by +4.7 gwh
• Returned £50,000 back to clients
• Won 8 out of 10 Ombudsman cases

We met some brilliant local business owners and built even stronger relationships with our existing customers 🤝

Somewhere in between, I also managed two marathons and a 100-mile bike ride, raising £1,618 for charity 🏃‍♂️🚴‍♂️

We launched a proper website, kept it updated with energy news, and had advertising boards go up at Urmston Sports Club and Trafford FC – genuinely proud moments 📣

Most importantly, none of this happens without the support of our customers and the wider Urmston community. Thank you to everyone who’s supported us, referred us, or helped us out along the way 💙

Here’s to 2026.

⚡ UK Energy Market Insights - Week Commencing 27 Oct 2025 ⚡

Gas and power prices edged slightly higher last week as cooler weather lifted demand and wind generation eased.

What this means for you:

💼 Businesses: A good moment to review renewal dates and benchmark rates before winter volatility builds.

Not all “great rates” are what they seem 👀

Standing charges, hidden fees and renewal terms can make a huge difference to what you actually pay. That’s why it helps to have someone on your side checking the detail and making sure your deal truly works for your business.

Real advice, real savings, from a team that’s genuinely on your side ⚡

⚡ UK Energy Market Insights - Week Commencing 13 Oct 2025 ⚡

Wholesale gas and power prices ticked higher this week, gas up around 4%, and power up over 5% on tighter supply and lower wind generation. ‼️

So, what does this mean for you? 🫵

🧑‍🍳 For businesses, prices are showing signs of volatility as we head into winter, so reviewing or locking in your rates early could help avoid sudden spikes.

🏡 For households, power and gas tariffs may edge higher in the short term, keeping an eye on usage and available deals remains key.
