Today, Integrated Utility Services Industrial team came together at the fantastic Middlesbrough FC for our bi-annual Industrial Stand Down.

The day was packed with valuable discussions around health & safety, business priorities, training and development, sustainability, and the importance of working together as one team.

We were also pleased to welcome guest speakers from Vehicle Lease and Service, who delivered insightful sessions and a live demonstration for our teams.

Events like these provide a great opportunity to step back from day-to-day operations, share knowledge, align on our goals, and reinforce the values that underpin everything we do.

A brilliant day at a fantastic venue. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making the event such a success.

This weekend marks International Bat Night, celebrating these fascinating creatures and raising awareness of the important role they play in our ecosystems.

At Integrated Utility Services, we’re proud to support the Bat Conservation Trust, helping to contribute towards the protection and conservation of bats and their habitats across the UK. 🌱

It's great to see the news that Tioxide has successfully restarted production at its Greatham facility, marking an exciting new chapter for this historic Teesside site. Production is now underway following the recommissioning of the plant, with a phased ramp-up planned towards full operational capacity.

At Integrated Utility Services, we were proud to support the site last year with the replacement of a 4MVA, 11kV/3.3kV transformer as pictured, helping to ensure the electrical infrastructure was ready to support future operations.

It's always rewarding to see projects like this come full circle, and we're delighted to see the facility back in production. Congratulations to everyone involved in the restart.

⚡ Powering Leeds for the future⚡

IUS is proud to have successfully delivered a major infrastructure upgrade at Leeds City Council's Woodhouse Lane car park.

The project involved:

✅ Designing and installing a new 1000kVA bulk LV substation for DNO/IDNO adoption
✅ Installing approximately 350m of HV triplex cable through one of Leeds city centre's busiest ring roads, requiring extensive traffic management and road closures
✅ Designing and installing substation equipment, including a 1000kVA Schneider Electric transformer, HV ring main unit and 1600A LV ACB cabinet
✅ Delivering the private LV cable network connecting directly into the client's adjacent switch room

This complex project demonstrates IUS's capability to design, manage and deliver critical electrical infrastructure in challenging urban environments while maintaining safety, quality, and operational excellence.

✈️ Supporting the future growth of East Midlands Airport

Integrated Utility Services (IUS) has been contracted to deliver a transformer replacement project at East Midlands Airport, increasing electrical capacity while strengthening resilience across critical airport operations.

The project remains ongoing, with IUS, FK Lamb and the MAG (Airports Group) team working together to coordinate the final connection works, ensuring the changeover is completed safely and with minimal disruption to airport operations.

As part of the upgrade, IUS is installing new 11kV cabling from the existing switchgear to the new transformer, along with DC tripping circuits for protection devices and new earthing arrangements to ensure the safe operation of the equipment.

East Midlands Airport has selected an ultra low loss amorphous core transformer, helping to reduce energy losses and improve network efficiency. This investment supports the sustainability goals of both East Midlands Airport and Integrated Utility Services while enhancing the performance and reliability of the electrical infrastructure.
