This afternoon, we had the pleasure of welcoming Morgan Instone from NEPIC to our Stockton-on-Tees depot and offices.

As a proud NEPIC member, it was a great opportunity to showcase what Integrated Utility Services does as a business, discuss our capabilities across the utilities and infrastructure sectors, and explore how we can further support fellow NEPIC members.

We already work with a number of manufacturing and industrial businesses across the North East, delivering services ranging from electrical infrastructure and maintenance through to engineering support and operational expertise. With such a strong manufacturing base across the region, there are many more opportunities to collaborate and help businesses achieve their operational and sustainability objectives.

⚡ A complete project lifecycle, delivered by IUS

This project showcases the breadth of capability within Integrated Utility Services (IUS), supporting our customer, Taylormade Timber, from the initial contestable connection through to private 11kV infrastructure works and long-term asset management via an Operation & Maintenance agreement.

Our team delivered:

🔹 Over 5km of cable installation, crossing the A1 and a railway line and passing through two villages, working closely with Highways, Network Rail and local Parish Councils.
🔹 The new intake substation, fitted out and commissioned alongside Northern Powergrid and the Independent Distribution Network Operator (IDNO).
🔹 The private switch room, including earth surveys and the supply of five transformers, four of which were bespoke to the project.
🔹 The private wire 11kV network, connecting the infrastructure through to the customer.
🔹 The customer was then onboarded onto an ongoing IUS Operation & Maintenance agreement, providing continued support for inspection, maintenance and emergency call out and fault repair.

From the High Voltage contestable connection and substation construction, through to the private 11kV network delivery, commissioning and ongoing maintenance, IUS provided a complete end-to-end solution.

This morning, Rachel Little attended the Place to Prosperity: Culture, Investment and Growth conference at The Glasshouse International Centre for Music, Gateshead, the final event in the North East Chamber of Commerce Conference Mini-Series. A big thank you to Natalie Connolly, our Account Manager, for the invite.

The event brought together business leaders, policymakers and stakeholders to explore how the North East can attract investment, support sustainable growth and create thriving places for people to live and work. With insightful talks from Brad Miller of Newcastle United Football Club, Vicky Pryce, and a panel discussion with George Clark, amongst other names from Esh Group, North East Chamber of Commerce, Northumbria University and Sunderland Empire.
