Thinking about a water well? Here’s what we can tell you for nowt!

As a courtesy, we can provide:

💧 An indication of the likely drilling depth
💧 Our view on the likely outcome and groundwater potential, based on our knowledge, experience and available local information
💧 An initial indication of whether we believe a water well is worth considering and a cost for doing so

There is a limit to the level of investigation a drilling company can reasonably provide free of charge and before an order is in place.

What a drilling company can't provide:

❌ A guarantee that water will be found
❌ A guarantee of a particular flow rate or daily volume
❌ A guarantee of water quality
❌ Detailed hydrogeological investigation or a formal prognosis as part of a free enquiry

Groundwater is a natural resource and we will not know the specific volume and quality until it is drilled and tested.

If your project depends upon achieving a minimum volume of water, or you require supporting information for an Abstraction Licence, we may recommend that you commission a more detailed groundwater prognosis or hydrogeological investigation before committing to drilling.

A note about site visits....

We don't undertake speculative site surveys as part of our free enquiry service. A site visit will be arranged once an order has been placed, so that access, drilling position and practical requirements can be confirmed.

We want to be helpful and give you the benefit of our experience, but we also want to be clear about where initial advice ends and professional investigation begins.
