๐Ÿซฑ Collaboration between Community Energy groups and Local Authorities is a big part of the UK's journey to low-carbon, decentralised, and more secure energy.

We're looking forward to Community Energy Pathways online event this Wednesday to understand how Car Park Solar can play a part in this journey! ๐Ÿ›ป

We've been having great conversations with our local councils - Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead Bracknell Forest Council Reading Council Slough Borough Council Spelthorne Borough Council - which we look forward to continuing at this event and beyond.

Plus, the speakers include West Suffolk District Council and MPRC consultants who have real experience with solar carport projects.

Free Webinar: Car Park Solar for Council and Community Energy Partnerships

October 28 @ 12:30 pm โ€“ 1:30 pm

You are invited to a Lunch and Learn featuring a company called Solar Car Park who offer a less invasive, less costly solution for our quirky local authority and public buildingsโ€™ carparks. Their solution provides carport solar and EV charging for smaller carparks which arenโ€™t cost-effective or suitable for the larger systems currently on offer today.

Why attend?
Learn about a new solution which addresses common car park solar installation challenges for public sector sites
Hear from Council Officers who have delivered or procured solar car park solutions in the past year
Ask questions about how to procure and deliver car park solar
Find out about different technical solutions other Councils and community energy groups have investigated
Discuss the benefits of car park solar versus rooftop
Find out how other Councils have overcome common challenges to this kind of solar installation.
Agenda:

โ€“ 10-15 minutes presentation from Solar Car Park UK focused on case studies and insights from local authority/public sector projects

โ€“ 10 minutes presentation from Officers with experience of procuring or delivering solar car park projects (tbc)

โ€“ Followed by discussion and Q&A to help Councils and CE groups get prepared for GB Energy Grant applications focused on putting community-owned solar on car parks.

๐Ÿ‘€ Spotted in Maidenhead - our operations team and contractors working hard to keep our assets in check. If you see us out and about, come say hi!

Our Project Coordinator, Vitalii, says, ''As part of our ongoing professionalisation, we've developed a new approach to maintaining our sites. By bringing together the surveys, risk analysis and performance data - alongside MCS guidance - we developed a 5-year maintenance plan.

Rather than just following standards, the plan reflects the real condition of our sites and MaidEnergy's actual capacity and goals.

Our recent visit to Furze Platt Senior School PTFA is a good example of this approach in action - the site survey and findings feed directly into that ongoing 5-year plan, helping us stay ahead of issues rather than just reacting to them''
