Every workshop has one: the person who gets called when nobody else can work out what's wrong.

New for 2026, the Electro-Mechanical Champion of the Year recognises exactly that person, someone whose technical expertise, problem-solving and consistently high standard of work add real, measurable value to their organisation and help move the whole industry forward.

It's not about job title. It's about the engineer who's quietly become indispensable: the one who diagnoses the fault everyone else missed, who trains up the apprentices without being asked, who's been doing brilliant, unglamorous work for years without anyone putting their name forward.

So we're asking: who would you nominate? Drop a name in the comments, or better still, put them forward properly.

You don't need their permission to start, and the form takes about fifteen minutes.

This week we're welcoming PTTEP to the AEMT community!

PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited is Thailand's national petroleum exploration and production company, with projects operating across multiple countries. Their work covers the full upstream cycle from exploration through development to production, backed by strong investment in technology and innovation. PTTEP also has a clear commitment to reaching net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, with carbon capture and storage forming part of that programme.

We're glad to have a company of their international standing in our membership.
