The Woman No One Buried
There was once a woman named Esther who lived alone at the edge of a town. Life had not been kind to her. She never married, and all her family members had passed away. Though she struggled, she remained humble and hardworking.
One cold evening, Esther fell ill and died in her small room. Days passed before anyone noticed she was gone. When the neighbors finally discovered her death, they were shocked and saddened.
The problem was that no one knew who should arrange her burial. She had no children, no close relatives, and no money left behind. Everyone felt sorry for her, but no one was willing to take responsibility.
Weeks later, her story spread through the town. A young woman who had once received help from Esther as a child heard the news. She remembered how Esther had given her food when her family was hungry.
Moved by gratitude, she gathered friends and neighbors. Together they raised money, bought a coffin, and organized a respectful burial. Hundreds of people attended after learning how much good Esther had quietly done for others.
As they lowered her into the ground, many wept. They realized that a person can live unnoticed yet leave a powerful mark on many lives.
Moral Lesson
Never forget those who once helped you. A good deed may be forgotten for a time, but its impact can live on in the hearts of others.
