🌄 Exploring History at Mount Parnassus
We’re thrilled to share our collaboration with ATENO Architecture Studio on an extraordinary project: enabling access to the Cave of Odysseas Androutsos, also known as the "Black Hole of Parnassus," located in Tithorea, Greece, at an elevation of 950m.
This historic site, which served as Androutsos' shelter and observatory during Greece’s revolutionary years (1822-1825), will feature a steel curved staircase and platform designed for both minimal environmental impact and structural excellence.
Our team at Tesseract Engineers provided structural engineering services from concept to detailed design, working alongside architects, geologists, and surveyors. The solution? A segmented steel structure with sheet metal steps, HEB/HEA profiles, and rock-anchored V-shaped supports to ensure stability and harmony with the cliffside.
📜 A testament to history, ingenuity, and sustainability.
