International Meeting of Leading Academics and Scientists in Chania on Artificial Intelligence and New Technologies for Economic Development
In a high-level international scientific setting, Chania hosts (April 22–23) a major gathering of academics from around the world, organized in collaboration between the Financial Engineering Laboratory and the Data Science Laboratory of the Technical University of Crete and the Royal Academy of Economic and Financial Sciences. Representing Greece within the Academy is Professor Constantin Zopounidis.
The meeting brings together leading researchers, including personalities connected to the Nobel ecosystem. From Greece, participants include Dimitris Zopounidis, George Atsalakis, Christos Lemonakis, Ioanna Atsalaki, and Giorgos Angelakis.
The focus areas include Business Analytics, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence, with applications across banking, business, aviation industry, SMEs, public economics, and regional development.
The meeting highlights the critical role of AI as a strategic driver shaping competitiveness, productivity, and sustainable development, emphasizing the need for international collaboration and interdisciplinary approaches.
The conference runs from April 22–26 at a hotel in Chania, including parallel activities and visits in Chania and Heraklion.
