🌟 How can additive manufacturing improve heat exchanger performance?

Heat exchangers are critical components in industries such as aerospace, advanced electronics and energy systems. However, conventional manufacturing methods often struggle with highly complex internal channels and lightweight structures.

Using our iSLM280 metal 3D printing system together with IN718 nickel-based superalloy material, we produced a heat exchanger featuring integrated complex spiral channels through topology optimization and one-piece manufacturing.

For decades, mold design was often constrained by what traditional machining methods could physically produce. 🤔

🌟 Today, additive manufacturing is shifting that mindset from "design for manufacturing" toward something closer to "manufacture the design". In this conformal cooling mold application produced using our iSLM280 system, cooling channels were designed around the geometry itself rather than around machining limitations.
