Behind-the-scenes vacuum resin infusion process of a 12-meter rib boat hull.
Fibermax multiaxial reinforcement fabrics G600H, G600H225M, and G800H are laid onto an open mould and sealed using Fibermax infusion kit and vacuum bagging materials: peel ply VC009, flow media VC016, spiral tube VC020, tubes VC021, VC022 and VC024, adhesive 630, adhesive grid, sealant tape VC099.3 and vacuum film VC94. Once sealed, negative pressure is applied with the Fibermax vacuum pump, and the resin is drawn through the dry fabric preform layup. This ensures complete impregnation, a high fiber-to-resin ratio, minimal void content, and reduced emissions during processing, which improves workshop climate conditions. The result is a high-performance laminate with an optimal strength-to-weight ratio.
Vacuum infusion remains a reliable and widely used method in modern composite manufacturing. Consistent with our approach, Fibermax technical staff is on-site and available to support our valued customers, and work together to move forward as a team.
