As Guyana celebrates its 60th Independence Day, our Diamond Jubilee, we reflect on a nation that continues to grow through innovation, unity, and education. 🇬🇾💎
Over the past six decades, Guyana has evolved into a country filled with potential, where advancement, technological progress, and educational development are helping to shape a brighter future for generations to come. From our classrooms and laboratories to national industries and research initiatives, the pursuit of knowledge continues to drive our country forward. 🧪✨
The University of Guyana Chemistry Club proudly celebrates the role of education and science in national development, while honoring the unity, diversity, and determination of the Guyanese people. 💙💛

This morning, the UG Chemistry Club had the pleasure of participating in a Study Tour hosted by the University of Guyana Early Childhood Centre (UGECCE) for representatives from the Government of St. Lucia 🇬🇾🇱🇨

The Chemistry Department has a proud history of working closely with the UGECCE to make science fun and accessible, with Chem Club members regularly engaging and assisting young learners. Today’s visit was especially meaningful, as our guests from St. Lucia explored how a similar model can be developed in their own country through presentations and interactive activities highlighting this collaboration.

The Club was honoured to share our journey with the Centre and to participate in hands-on activities with the Year Two students. 🧪✨

We’d like to extend special thanks to Chem Club members Shalini Dharundar, Rihanna Bishop, Rayell July, and Odel Monfort for representing the Club this morning under the guidance of Ms. Samantha Joseph.💙💛

Chemistry graduate, Aliecia McDonald who now serves on the Pesticide Board as Senior Analytical Chemist, is giving back to her high school, Hope Secondary. 👩🏾‍🔬🧪
She made a donation of pipette fillers to assist with titration as a part of the Chemistry Department’s outreach to the school having realised the laboratory needs that existed. We commend Ms. McDonald on her efforts in giving back and fostering chemistry in education and hope this serves as inspiration for other chemistry graduates. 💙💛
