EW&ST AC Series...Did You Know?
A Proper Vacuum Process is One of the Most Important Steps in an Air Conditioner Installation.
Many people pay very little attention to how an AC is installed.
When a new AC system is installed, the refrigerant lines contain air and moisture. Before releasing the refrigerant into the system, a professional technician must connect a vacuum pump and pull the system into a deep vacuum to remove these contaminants.
If this step is rushed, skipped or done incorrectly, moisture remains trapped inside the system. This moisture can react with the refrigerant and oil, creating acids that damage the compressor from the inside out. Air left in the system also reduces cooling efficiency, increases operating pressures, causes higher electricity consumption and shortens the lifespan of the equipment.
A proper vacuum isn't about connecting a pump for a few minutes and calling it a day. It requires the right equipment, proper procedures and verification that the system has reached and maintained the required vacuum level.
The difference between an AC system that lasts for years and one that develops premature problems often comes down to the quality of the installation.
Do not accept "Purging" your system from your AC Technician.
A good air conditioner can only perform as well as the technician who installs it.
