💬 *IGBA Human Practice Salon | Macau Edition 🇲🇴*

On March 30, our HKU iGEM team had the amazing opportunity to join the *IGBA Human Practice Salon* at MUST, Macau! 🌟 This inspiring event brought together iGEMers from across the GBA to share insights and prepare for meaningful Human Practices work ahead. 🧩🌱

We had the pleasure of learning from *Yuhan Bao*, iGEM Human Practices Committee Coordinator, and *Zixi Li*, iGEM Ambassador for Asia & Oceania — their guidance shed new light on how we can create impactful and responsible synthetic biology projects! 💡🧬

Big thanks to the organizers and everyone who joined us — let’s continue building a stronger GBA iGEM community together! 💪💚

The International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) competition is the world’s largest synthetic biology competition. Originally spun out of student projects from a course at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), iGEM is an annual international competition for student teams to develop their own Synthetic Biology projects over the summer and present their work in the annual jamboree. Since 2004, thousands of high schools, undergraduate, and graduate teams from across the globe have participated in this competition.

Over the past decade, HKU iGEM has been awarded numerous medals for our synthetic biology projects. We wish to continue HKU’s legacy of iGEM achievements and invite undergrad students to join us for the new year.

We are looking for:
- Wet Lab Researchers
- Science Communication Officers
- Web Developers
- Modelling Researchers
- anyone who is interested in synthetic biology

The iGEM Grand Jamboree is where all teams showcase their projects and get a chance to network with people from all around the world. It will be held in Paris in the coming year and will be a great opportunity for everyone to be inspired by young scientists from all over the world, all while learning more about science start-ups.
