The 4th TERA-Award Smart Energy Innovation Competition has officially closed for applications โ€” and weโ€™re excited to announce a record-breaking 785 submissions from around the world!

Close to 75% of submissions came from outside China, showing the growing global momentum for smart energy innovation.

We saw incredible ideas from innovators across the US, India, and the UK, alongside strong participation from Mainland China and Hong Kong. There was also exciting engagement from across Europe, the Middle East, the Americas, and beyond โ€” thank you to everyone who stepped up to shape the future of energy. ๐Ÿ™Œ

The potential of investment opportunities in the sustainability sector was a major theme of this yearโ€™s Asian Financial Forum (AFF).

The two-day event brought global financiers, economists, policymakers, tech giants and entrepreneurs to Hong Kong to discuss โ€˜Powering the Next Growth Engineโ€™. Speakers emphasised the need for innovators from different fields to work together to catalyse next-generation business ideas in support of Asiaโ€™s decarbonisation journey.

This month, we hosted a successful warm-up event at the University of Michigan-Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute, bringing together passionate faculty and students from prestigious universities such as the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University Singapore, Singapore Management University, and Ateneo de Manila University. The energy at the event was incredible, with participants showing great enthusiasm for this yearโ€™s TERA-Award. Several professors also shared their plans to encourage outstanding new energy projects from their institutions to join the competition.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to this vibrant discussion on innovation and sustainability. Letโ€™s continue to power the future together!
