Angyaltrombita és csillagvirág a limonádés kancsón
Kék kalocsai festéssel jelent meg a nagy nyári meleg beköszöntével limonádés kancsónk, amelyet ugyancsak nem a vitrinnek terveztünk, hanem mindennapi használatra. A rózsán kívül számtalan szép mezei vagy termesztett virágot alkalmaztak dekorálásra a kalocsai motívumvilágban, ilyen például az angyaltrombita és a csillagvirág. Az angyaltrombita (Datura) az egyik legillatosabb és legdekoratívabb edényes növény, amely júniustól az őszi fagyokig folyamatosan hozza fehér, sárga vagy rózsaszínű tölcsérvirágait. Szinte magam előtt látom, ahogy az angyalok a hasonló formájú trombitát fújják felettünk az égben.
A csillagvirág ültethető, de erdők árnyékos részein szabadon is megtalálható, amikor csodás kéken tündököl tavasztól kora nyárig.
Angel's Trumpet and Starflower on a Lemonade Pitcher
With the arrival of the summer heat, our lemonade pitcher has been released featuring blue Kalocsa-style painting; like our other pieces, it was not designed for display, but for everyday use. In addition to roses, countless beautiful wild and cultivated flowers were used for decoration in the Kalocsa motif tradition, such as the angel’s trumpet and the starflower. The angel’s trumpet (Datura) is one of the most fragrant and decorative potted plants, continuously producing white, yellow, or pink funnel-shaped flowers from June until the first frosts of autumn. I can almost picture the angels blowing their trumpets, all shaped alike, high above us in the sky.
The starflower can be planted, but it also grows wild in the shady parts of forests, where it shines in a beautiful blue from spring through early summer.
