Wae Rebo is a very remote village in the heart of Flores Island, which is the only village that still maintain the original vernacular architecture and cultural custom of Manggarai
It located so deep in the middle of a conservation forest so it was so difficult to be reached by infor
mation and technology. Because of the reasons many younger generation are left the village, to go to the city, looking for brighter future. And with it's future generation are gone, there will be no legacy to be passed on to. And so with this WAE REBO POWER project, we will try to give the people of Wae Rebo chances for development and to brings back Wae Rebo to the 21st Century. Water is a very good potential as power generator in Wae Rebo. There nonetheless 12 water springs in Wae Rebo which generates many river, which are good potential as a source of electrical power. Micro Hydro Power Plant is a simple technology which they can easily be taught, so they can maintained and operated by themselves
And by giving them power, they can develop their agricultural productivity, and have spare time to build the community. Because Wae Rebo is only a small picture of similar cases throughout Nusantara. and if Wae Rebo can do it, an independent Indonesia will be no more a dream
