🌏 Day 1 at Jakarta — what an incredible start!

We began with an inspiring Welcome & Co-Host Session, featuring Taufik Aditiyawarman, CEO of Kilang Pertamina Internasional, and special recognition to Laode Sulaeman, Director General – Oil & Gas, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Indonesia, for his valuable insights on Indonesia’s energy transformation.

From there, the forum explored vital themes shaping the future of Asia’s downstream and petrochemical industries — from decarbonisation pathways and AI-driven optimisation to refinery flexibility, digitalisation, and technology innovations for profitability and efficiency.

🧳 Bahrain Awaits…
Building on this year’s accomplishments, we are proud to announce that the next edition of - the Bottom of the Barrel Technology Conference will take place on February 4-5, 2025, in Bahrain.

The event remains the only conference in the MENA region dedicated to residue upgrading technologies and catalysts, with a strong focus on the evolving needs of the global downstream industry, particularly in upgrading heavier components and reducing emissions, in line with the growing emphasis on energy security and carbon footprint reduction.

It will bring together leading end-users, solution providers, contractors, and consultants from the MENA downstream community and will provide a platform for exchanging insights on the latest advancements in Bottom of the Barrel processes, catalysts, and the industry’s shift towards petrochemicals and chemicals.
