Job Description:
As an Electrical Quantity Surveyor at C‑Mac Electrical Ltd, you will play a key role in managing project costs from tender stage through to completion. You will work closely with our project teams, ensuring accurate cost control, efficient procurement, and clear reporting to support successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate cost estimates, take‑offs, and bills of quantities for electrical projects.
Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
Manage project budgets, monitor costs, and produce ongoing financial reports.
Carry out site visits to assess progress and evaluate variations.
Measure and value works, variations, and labour.
Prepare interim payment applications and final accounts.
Support procurement, including sourcing and pricing of materials and subcontractor packages.
Maintain strong communication with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
Ensure all work complies with company standards and industry regulations.

Requirements:
Qualification in Quantity Surveying, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Experience within electrical contracting or the wider construction industry (preferred).
Strong understanding of electrical systems and installation practices.
Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with estimating software an advantage.
Strong communication, organisation, and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Qualified Electrical Engineer

Working within a wide-ranging Electrical environment covering a wide range of electrical sectors.

Liaise with relevant departments – Customers, Maintenance, Production, R&D/Technical and IT to define the requirements of a project.

a. Specify, design, install and commission new equipment as required. Process & automation equipment, MCCs, General services, power distribution, Data, Fire & security systems.

b. Assist with controls teams on the Writing and modifying of PLC programs preparing FDAs

c. Lead in troubleshooting of electrical and automation problems

d. Ensure the required maintenance and upgrade on PLCs, SCADA, and IT interfaces is carried out.

e. Liaise with critical vendors in addressing and improving operational issues

f. Maintain existing and introduce new equipment onto the SCADA system.

g. Provide and maintain detailed electrical drawings and schematics. Use of AutoCAD, Visio, SolidWorks, etc an advantage.

h. Develop and sign off on switching plans & SOPs

i. Be a nominated person in control of HV System electrical installation for the safe operation of it.

j. Review SOPs and for modifications to existing procedures and equipment, liaise with the relevant department to agree what the problems are and work towards solving them.

k. Manage projects within specification, on time within budget and in compliance with health and safety and quality guidelines.

l. Carry out other duties as required including energy related projects or tasks, based on operational requirements.

m. Lead in planning the Summer and Winter Shutdowns

n. Procurement of materials & selection of correct parts for ongoing projects

o. Work & advise with the electrical team with ongoing projects

p. Mentor the Senior Electrical Technician and others
