Not every organisation needs the same type of energy audit.

The right approach depends on your site, the size and complexity of your operations, and what you are trying to achieve.

From understanding site-wide energy use to supporting major investment decisions, compliance requirements or multiple locations, Celtic Dynamics offers a range of audit services across Ireland and the UK.

In this carousel, we break down five of the main audit types we deliver:

• Full Site Energy Audits
• SME Energy Audits
• Investment Grade Energy Audits
• Compliance Energy Audits, including EAS and ESOS
• Group Rollout Energy Audits

Swipe through for a simple overview of what each audit is designed for and where it may fit your organisation.

Four values shape how we show up every day at Celtic Dynamics:

Friendly. Courageous. Reliable. Insightful.

They influence how we work as a team, how we approach challenges and how we build relationships with the people and organisations we work with.

They’re not just words on a page. They’re the standard we aim to bring to every conversation, every decision and every project.

Something special is happening in the skies this evening.

Today’s solar eclipse will be visible across Ireland and the UK, with the Moon set to obscure a significant portion of the Sun. In the UK, the eclipse is expected between approximately 6pm and 8pm, peaking at around 7.10pm, depending on location.

And it’s a rare one. The UK won’t see the Sun obscured to this extent again until 2081.

If you’re heading outside for a look, remember to view it safely. Never look directly at the Sun, even during an eclipse. Use certified eclipse glasses or a pinhole viewer instead.

Here’s hoping for clear skies!

What can the right energy strategy deliver for a residential care facility?

For this project we supported a residential care facility with an energy audit, decarbonisation plan and grant support, identifying practical opportunities to improve building performance and reduce energy use.

The results speak for themselves:

🔹 628,257 kWh annual energy savings
🔹 172.69 tCO₂e annual carbon reduction
🔹 €45,531 annual cost savings

We also supported the facility in securing grant funding for window and door upgrades, helping improve insulation and reduce overall energy demand. It’s a great example of how combining energy analysis, practical upgrades and funding support can deliver measurable financial and environmental benefits.

An energy audit starts before we arrive on site.

Before the site visit, we take time to understand how your business uses energy so that the audit can focus on the areas that matter most.

This usually means reviewing things like:

🔹 Recent electricity and fuel bills
🔹 Basic site details and operating hours
🔹 Information on how the site operates day to day

That early preparation gives our engineers a clearer picture of your energy use and helps us make the site visit more focused, practical and valuable.

Following the visit, we analyse the findings and identify practical opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs and support future energy projects.

Could excess renewable energy help tackle energy poverty?

In this clip from The Energy Canvas, Peter Lefroy of RWE explores what could be done with renewable electricity that would otherwise go unused, and how smarter technology and storage could help direct that energy to those who need it most.

Will your organisation qualify for ESOS in December 2026?

If your business has 250+ employees, or a turnover above £44 million and a balance sheet above £38 million (or is part of a group that meets these thresholds), it's worth understanding your ESOS obligations now.

While the qualification date is 31 December 2026, qualifying organisations must complete their ESOS assessment and submit a compliance notification by 5 December 2027.

Preparing early gives you time to:

✅ Confirm whether your organisation is in scope
✅ Gather the energy data you'll need
✅ Plan and complete your assessment without a last-minute rush

Our registered ESOS Lead Assessors support organisations throughout the entire process, from determining applicability to completing audits and preparing compliance submissions.

New EU deforestation rules are coming. Is your business ready?

The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) will introduce new requirements for businesses placing certain commodities and derived products on the EU market, with compliance deadlines beginning in December 2026.

While the deadlines may seem some time away, preparing for EUDR isn't something that can be left until the last minute. Gathering supplier information, mapping supply chains and understanding your obligations can take significantly longer than many businesses expect.

If your business imports, manufactures, buys or sells products containing cattle, cocoa, coffee, palm oil, rubber, soy or wood, it's worth understanding how EUDR could affect you. The regulation also applies to many derived products, including chocolate, leather, furniture and paper.

We help businesses prepare through supply chain mapping, supplier engagement, gap analysis and EUDR readiness support. Swipe through to learn more about EUDR and the steps your business can take to prepare.

Can offshore wind secure Ireland's energy future?

Our latest episode of The Energy Canvas is now live.

This week, Dylan Walsh is joined by Peter Lefroy, Head of Offshore Development UK West & Ireland at RWE, to discuss the future of offshore wind and the role it will play in Ireland's energy transition.

The conversation explores why offshore wind is essential to improving energy security, the regulatory and infrastructure challenges facing large-scale renewable projects, and how developments like the Dublin Array could help power Ireland for decades to come.

If you're interested in renewable energy, infrastructure, engineering or the future of Ireland's electricity system, this is an episode worth listening to.
