Position Overview
C Owens Mechanical Maintenance is seeking an experienced Steel Erector / Steel Work Installer to support ongoing projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and fitting various steel components, ensuring all works are completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Installation and fitting of steel door frames
Installation of handrails and guardrails
Installation and adjustment of steel gates
Installation of steel walkways, platforms, and access structures
Carrying out general steel works and steel er****on tasks
Reading and interpreting technical drawings and installation plans
Performing alignment, positioning, and securing of steel components
Conducting bolting, welding, and fixing operations where required
Ensuring all work complies with site safety regulations and quality standards
Working collaboratively with other trades and site supervisors
Maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition
Required Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience in steel er****on or structural steel installation
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Experience with steel fabrication, fitting, bolting, and welding
Strong understanding of construction site safety practices
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Physically fit and comfortable working at heights when required
Relevant trade certification or site safety training is an advantage
Benefits
