Slip Resistance Testing | Creating Safer Walking Environments

At Building Envelope Technologies (BET), we understand the importance of ensuring that walking surfaces are safe, suitable and compliant with relevant standards.

Our ISO 17025 accredited Slip Resistance Testing service helps assess the slip resistance of flooring in commercial, residential and public environments, supporting informed decisions on surface safety.

Using the Pendulum Test method, our experienced team evaluates slip resistance under dry, wet and cleaned conditions, helping to identify potential slip hazards and reduce the risk of accidents.

Our testing is carried out in accordance with relevant industry standards, including BS EN 16165:2021 and BS EN 13036-4:2011.

Minister for Housing James Browne TD Visits BET Headquarters in Ferns

Building Envelope Technologies was delighted to welcome James Browne TD, Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, to our Head Office and testing facilities in Ferns, Co. Wexford.

The visit provided an opportunity for Minister Browne to meet members of the BET team, tour our facilities and learn more about the specialist building testing, compliance and performance services we provide to the construction industry across Ireland.

Showcasing Our Testing Facilities
During the visit, Minister Browne was shown a full-scale façade mock up currently installed in our CWCT Test Rig & also our newly accredited EN1627 Burglars Resistance Testing.
The visit also provided an opportunity to showcase the continued investment in our facilities in Ferns and the technical expertise of our team across a wide range of building performance disciplines.

BET is proud to have worked alongside Bennett Construction on the LDA Cromcastle Project in Coolock, Dublin 5.

As part of this major residential development, our team has provided a comprehensive range of building-performance services, including INAB-accredited airtightness testing, acoustic testing, thermal modelling and final BER certification.

These services play an important role in assessing energy efficiency, controlling heat loss, supporting acoustic comfort and confirming that the completed homes meet the required performance and certification standards.

We’re delighted to have contributed our expertise to this important development and look forward to working alongside Bennett Construction and the wider project team throughout the final stages of the project.

It was great to welcome the Alucraft team to our purpose-built testing facility in Ferns for CWCT Sequence B Testing.

The testing was completed with the support of our BET team members Ross, Colm and Teo, helping to assess the performance of the façade system under controlled conditions.

As our three summer interns get ready to head back to college this week, it’s a great opportunity to reflect on why we value our summer internship programme so much.

We want our interns to get more than just a few months of work experience. It’s about giving them the opportunity to get involved, learn from the team, take on real responsibility and get a genuine feel for what it’s like to work in our industry.

This summer, Jamie, Aoife and Lukas have all brought plenty of enthusiasm, fresh ideas and a willingness to get stuck in, and they’ve been a brilliant addition to the team.

We’re proud to play a small part in helping them build their experience and confidence as they continue their studies and careers — and we’re looking forward to seeing where their journeys take them.

🏡 BET Building Envelope Technologies was delighted to attend the K & K Windows Ltd Better Homes Grant Information Event at the Amber Springs Hotel.

The event brought together homeowners and industry professionals to learn more about the Better Homes Grant process and the steps involved in creating warmer, healthier, and more energy-efficient homes.

A highlight of the day was seeing our Managing Director, Tommy Morris, join the panel of expert speakers to discuss the importance of building performance testing throughout the retrofit journey.

Tommy shared how airtightness testing, ventilation assessments, and quality assurance help ensure retrofit projects achieve the highest standards of comfort, energy efficiency, and compliance.

It was a fantastic opportunity to meet so many homeowners, answer questions about the retrofit process, and explain how BET supports successful home energy upgrades through independent building performance testing.

A sincere thank you to K & K Windows Ltd for hosting such a well-organised and informative event, and to everyone who took the time to visit Niamh Dillon, Shane Halpin and Fred at the Building Envelope Technologies stand.
