DESIGN AND BUILD ~ This project involved a premium holiday home in St Helens, Rosslare. The client sought to subtly enhance the existing kitchen by introducing additional space, along with a carefully designed patio area to elevate the home’s indoor–outdoor living experience. The design approach was intentionally understated yet sophisticated, resulting in a timeless, elegant finish that aligns seamlessly with the property’s high specification.

Architecture ~This was a green field project located close to an urban setting and close to the forest, it was on a sloped site and the client wanted to use this slope to their advantage and have different levels to the home. They had teenage children and they wanted to give them their space to have friends over, they also wanted a private guest section to their home. They wanted their home to have 2 different areas sleep/quite zone, and a living/loud zone this was achieved by splitting the dwelling into two different zones essentially the area to the right of the plans was the living zone (one storey) and the area to the left (two storey) was the study and sleep zone. We also had to take careful consideration due to its proximity to the forest so a landscape proposal of the surrounding grounds to the site was submitted.

Architecture ~ This was a green field project close to the river Slaney and with a forest close by, it had views to the East and North East of the site and the client wanted to make the most of these views and required the building to be all on the same level. The site was on a steep incline and a contour survey was done due to its proximity to a forest careful consideration had to be given to the landscape of the grounds surrounding the site so as not to negatively impact the area visually.

Architecture~ This was a green field site in a rural setting. The client came to me after this was refused twice previously by another firm, the client’s requirements were to have a two-story house but planners had previously refused as all houses in the area were bungalows and they wanted this dwelling to be in keeping with the surrounding area. We overcame this by proposing that the dwelling was to be visually a bungalow to the front with a two-story flat roof to the rear. A Landscape proposal had to be submitted also, so the flat roof, two-storey area to the rear was obscured to the road front.
