Tama - Farm Grown Solutions

Tama - Farm Grown Solutions Tama - an enterprise of Kibbutz Mishmar Ha’emek and Kibbutz Gal’ed - was founded over 70 years ago.

A world leader in the manufacture of crop baling products; combining farming experience, with cutting-edge agricultural technology, for farmers around the globe. Since then, Tama has grown and developed, while remaining close to its origins at the heart of a working agricultural community. The vibrant combination of modern agricultural practices, cutting-edge manufacturing technology and good old

farming values, have made Tama a world renowned company that now employs over 1,300 people worldwide. For more than 90 years, members of the Kibbutz have been rising at the crack of dawn to farm the land. This background is what enables Tama to understand and share the farming way of life. Tama stewardship is now in the hands of the third generation of the kibbutz, which inherited this rich legacy and proudly carries on its founders’ vision for the future. Tama’s main area of specialization is protective products for agriculture, which we refer to as "Crop Baling Products (CBP)”. Tama is focused first and foremost on Netwrap for hay, straw and silage, an area in which it has led the market for the last 30 years. Our vision is to supply our customers with the highest quality products for consistent baling results, through the most cost-effective solutions. Tama’s 40 years’ experience in the manufacture and marketing of cordage, square baler twines, trellis and support horticultural twines, and ropes, combined with its agricultural orientation and close contact with customers, has made it one of Israel’s leading companies in this sphere sector of the industry. Since extending our twine manufacturing activities to Europe, new higher-specification baler twines have been developed and launched that have raised the bar for quality and performance. Tama’s rich experience in the manufacture of crop baling and our own familiarity with mechanical cotton picking on our farm, positioned Tama to cooperate with John Deere and develop the new wrap for cotton being baled as part of the harvest process. TamaWrap™ was developed to complement the John Deere 7760 cotton picker that bales the cotton in a continuous process without stopping the picker. This innovative wrap is specially designed to eliminate the potential of plastic fragments and the risk of cotton contamination, assures reliable automatic wrapping for non-stop harvesting, helps to maintain the quality of cotton in round modules which are exposed to extreme conditions, and helps to eliminate waste. Along with Netwrap, baler twine and cotton wraps, Tama also sells Silo bags, stretchfilm and silage films, to complete the full range of Crop Baling Products. In addition, Tama has developed and patented innovative types of pallet net for the palletizing of products that need to breathe-such as fresh produce, refrigerated items, and manufactured items that are still warm when palletized. Over the years, Tama has become the natural partner for most Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). The cooperation is reflected in machine and baling products development, product approval and recognition, and crop baling product distribution. These close relationships have taught us at Tama how to adapt our products ideally to our customers’ needs. A classic example is the highly successful 7-year collaboration with John Deere which led up to the introduction of the CoverEdge™ baler and net system. Tama maintains sales and marketing organizations in each main market, and is in a position to communicate with its customers and have a close understanding of their needs. As farmers ourselves, we know that personal relationships you can count on are an inseparable part of successful farming. Our service to our resellers includes professional sales training, and technical training and service in the field. Tama’s globally situated manufacturing plants afford it a strong presence in target markets.

The baling season is still going strong, and so are our teams.
Across the world, we’re still out in the fields, testing our latest developments in real conditions, where they really need to perform.
The days are long, the heat has been relentless in many places, but we’re out there working side by side with our customers, learning, testing and improving.
The goal is simple: help farmers keep baling smoothly and make sure every bale gets the protection it needs.
There are still a few weeks left before the final cut, and we plan to make the most of them.
We’ll be there, right up to the last bale.

TamaWrap® changed cotton harvesting. Now, we’re taking the next step.

Last week at the Australian Cotton Conference, we launched TamaWrap® Cycle – bringing used cotton wrap back into the cycle to help create new wrap.

The result is a 13% lower carbon footprint compared with standard TamaWrap®, while maintaining the performance growers know and trust.

From the field, through recycling, and back to the field.

Watch the story of TamaWrap® Cycle.

Currently available exclusively in Australia.
