| 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 | 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 & 𝗘𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁

Smooth installations lead to long-lasting performance, and at SOFAR, we’re committed to helping our partners get it right the first time.
We’ve curated a quick guide featuring key installation best practices and a must-follow checklist for our PV inverters to ensure:

1. 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
* Conduct a proper site survey for shading, tilt, and orientation.
* Ensure adequate ventilation for inverter operation.
* Avoid areas prone to waterlogging or extreme heat.

2. 𝗠𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿
* Mount on a vertical, fire-resistant, and stable wall.
* Maintain manufacturer-recommended clearance around the inverter (usually 300 mm sides/top).
* Install at eye level for ease of access and monitoring.

3. 𝗪𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
* Use DC cables of appropriate size and type (UV-resistant, double-insulated).
* Ensure proper MC4 connectors with crimping tools (avoid loose connections).
* Route AC and DC cables separately to prevent interference.
* Properly torque all terminal connections as per the datasheet.
4. 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
* Ground the inverter using standard earthing practices.
* Use SPD (Surge Protection Devices) for both AC and DC sides.
* Install proper MCB/MCCB and isolators on both input and output.

5. 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴
* Verify PV string polarity and voltage before connecting.
* Confirm grid parameters (voltage, frequency) are within range.
* Use the SOFAR app or monitoring platform for setup:
Inverter naming
Wi-Fi/4G configuration
Firmware updates if needed

6. 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴
* Monitor live data during initial startup.
* Confirm the inverter is tracking MPPT and feeding power to the grid.
* Log in to the SOFAR monitoring portal for remote supervision.
