Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) successfully hosted the 2nd Edition of the GCCI Gujarat Sustainability Summit 2026 (GGSS 2026) at Soulinaire, Ahmedabad, under the theme “Gujarat: India’s Engine for Sustainable Growth – Charting the Course to 2047 & 2070.”
The summit brought together 1,000+ delegates and 40+ distinguished speakers from industry, government, academia, and global sustainability forums to deliberate on actionable ESG strategies and Gujarat’s pathway toward a sustainable, low-carbon future.
GCCI President Shri Sandeep Engineer emphasized the importance of transforming ESG into a practical business imperative and integrating sustainability into Gujarat’s industrial ecosystem through resource circularity, social equity, and transparency.
The inaugural session featured insightful keynote addresses by Shri Banchhanidhi Pani (IAS), Municipal Commissioner, Ahmedabad; Shri Chandra Bhushan, President & CEO, iFOREST; and Shri Punit Lalbhai, Vice Chairman, Arvind Limited.
The event was graced by GCCI office bearers Shri Rajesh Gandhi, Sr. Vice President; Shri Apurva Shah, Vice President; Shri Bipendrasinh Jadeja, Hon. Secretary (R); Shri Gaurang Bhagat, Hon. Treasurer and GCCI Executive Committee Members.
The summit featured impactful discussions on financing MSMEs for clean energy transition, carbon markets, sustainable infrastructure, decarbonizing supply chains, climate-focused start-ups, gender diversity, and future-ready low-carbon business practices.
In the valedictory session, Shri Sameer Sinha, Chairman, GCCI ESG Taskforce, highlighted the need to convert sustainability intent into measurable impact through collaboration among industry, policymakers, and academia.
With participation from leading institutions including IIT Gandhinagar, IIM Ahmedabad, CEPT University, CEEW, and i-Hub Gujarat, GGSS 2026 reaffirmed Gujarat’s leadership in advancing India’s sustainability and decarbonization agenda.
Demonstrating GCCI’s commitment to environmental responsibility, GGSS 2026 achieved Operational Net-Zero status for the second consecutive year, reinforcing the Chamber’s vision for a prosperous and sustainable India by 2047.
