The Indian Army (भारतीय थलसेना, Bhāratīya Thalasēnā) on 7th Dec 2013 (for Pre Final Year students-2015 Passing Batch)
The Indian Army (भारतीय थलसेना, Bhāratīya Thalasēnā) is the land-based branch and the largest component of the Indian Armed Forces. The President of India is the Commander-in-Chief of the army, and it is commanded by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), who is a four-star general. Two officers have been conferred the rank of Field marshal, a five-star ranked general, which is a ceremonial position of great honour. The Indian Army originated from the armies of the East India Company, which eventually became the British Indian Army and finally the national army after independence. The units and regiments of the Indian Army have diverse histories and have participated in a number of battles and campaigns across the world, earning a large number of battle and theatre honours before and after Independence.Indian Army is the land based branch of Indian Armed forces and also the largest one. It is responsible to ensure national security of the country.

Age Limit
Candidate age should be between 18 to 24 years on the first day of the month in which the course is commencing i.e. the candidate should not be born before 2 July 1990 and not after 1 July 1996.
Educational Qualification
Candidates studying in the Pre-Final of the Engineering Course in recognized Universities or Institutions or Colleges in the subjects mentioned in above will be eligible to apply but must possess the educational qualification at the time of joining training or should be able to produce the proof of having obtained the educational qualification within 12 weeks from the date of commencement of training for the grant of Permanent Commission in the Army.
Pay Scale
· During the period of training the candidates will be given a stipend of Rs. 21,000/- p.m
· On completion of training Officers are commissioned as Lieutenant.
