What pure IT companies don't get is that writing software for factories might actually require "Factories"!
Shocking, I know!
Turns out, these manufacturing facilities are filled with real humans operating with all sorts of collars (blue, white, red, pink .. what have you) handling actual physical equipment!
Who Knew?
Silicon Valley, both SF & India are coding, blissfully unaware that their "revolutionary manufacturing solution" needs to survive in a real hardware environment with actual grease, noise and people who don't give a damn about elegant UX when a machine is shutting down.
And now we're throwing LLM's at this?
Because clearly what a steel company needs is an AI that can write poetry but can't tell a conveyor belt from a conveyor belt sushi restaurant.
"Sorry, I can't fix your production line, but would you like a 5 paragraph essay on whay it might be broken?"
