India is well known for its entrepreneurial spirit, yet at t

he same time nearly 40% of India ´s population today (primarily the poor) do not have access to financial services from formal institutions and banks. As a result the poor look to private money lenders for a loan to start their business. However, money lenders will often distort interest rates, abuse their power and exploit the poor, leading the poor down a spiraling debt trap. Income Generating Loans
Growing Opportunity provides an alternative funding option for poor entrepreneurs. By providing business loans, educations loans, and insurance products, Growing Opportunity enables the poor to start or expand their business, improving their income and financial security. Business Planning
However, for the poor to be economically and socially secure in the long-term they need more than just a bank loan. Therefore, we help each client to leverage their loan to its full potential by helping each client create a business plan for their venture and provide ongoing business training, motivation and goal setting to assist our clients to grow and strengthen their business. Social Development
We also help clients to grow their personal development and understanding of issues in the surrounding community. Regularly our clients are taught valuable information on health, nutrition, self-esteem and the importance of education. We encourage clients to pass on what they learn to their own families and local communities.
