How photography found me...

When I was 11 years old, I saw a flock of birds in the sky. For once, in my young life, a split-second scene was imprinted in my mind. And since I was a good kid who usually never asked for anything special, my father bought me a Yashica toy camera. From that day onwards, Yashica roamed with me, safe in my pocket. Our relationship remained steady for years, and she ins

pired me to dream of a career in photography. I expressed this to my parents with enthusiasm, but I had just passed out of school, and my parents shoved me in the direction of an engineering college, so that I could lay the foundation for a 'steady career'. My busy college days kept me away from Yashica, making me restless; so I turned into a gossiping college RJ overnight. I was hugely popular for around 3 weeks, before I got caught. Then I opted for a safer profession - designing valves. For quite some time, I didn't know how to spend my salary. Then my greatest passion crept back into my head - I bought a camera, a classic film SLR, a Nikon FM 10 (that was not because I missed my RJ-ing days). Photography again cast its spell on me. Every weekend, I bonded with my camera, hills, rivers, animals, trees, gypsies and other photography subjects. I stacked up weeks worth of leave for long photography trips. Soon, people began accompanying me on these trips, and they wanted to learn photography from me. I started conducting photography workshops, which saw enthusiastic participants of all ages. By this time, photography had been my passion for nearly 8 years. My work life was getting drabber by the day - I didn't want any more valves in my வாழ்வு. So I worked up the guts to quit my job and bought myself the best professional photography equipment .Now I am pouring my heart into the art of photography. I do portrait and wedding photography in a candid manner (No posing! It is not natural). I try to create visual stories about people in a portrait photo, identifying the depth of their expressions and body language. Of course, people are not my only models. When products come along and ask for a portfolio, I enjoy portraying them at their stunning best.

Peruvudayar temple or Thanjai periya kovil is one of the largest living Chola temples built by Rajaraja Cholan. The temple is massive and one gets lost in its size as soon as you enter the premises.

I saw a fleet of fishing boats...I ran down almost touching the craft and stopped. Started looking deeper. They carry the fish we eat, they carry our flag, and finally when they get wasted away mother earth carries them.

I met these ladies near a bridge by the side of a forest stream. They were waiting for their vehicle to take them back to their home after their day's work at the coffee and pepper plantations. I liked the contrast in their costume colour and immediately felt like shooting. I asked for their permission and happily agreed.

You always don't need the most expensive lens to make a decent portrait. This picture was shot with , one of the least priced . It is small, light and has decent optics for about INR 18 k budget.

It was on 23 April 2014 that I decided to give up my engineering career and take up photography professionally. I chose wedding photography and have been practising for over 8 years in the brand name . It all started with a Canon kit with used EF lenses I bought from my friend

Swipe right to see the first sketch I did for my logo. And it was the construction triangles that I used which is now my brand name with a "Try" to keep me reminded that I have to always try for something different. Thank you for making this beautiful logo.

Apart from being a photographer, it was really difficult to forget engineering and it still continues with a review of photography gears. What was once a profession is a hobby now. I do that on my youtube channel . Apart from tech stuff, my heart has been longing to tell stories and you can expect that in my youtube in future.

From my college days, I had always looked forward to the days when I should be taking a class or presenting my thesis and this interest in teaching/ presenting continued during my corporate career. It was in 2011, the time I used to spend all my free time with when the founder & fellow trekker once asked me to do a workshop on basic photography I started doing photography workshops. I would have done a lot of free workshops with either for free or collecting a small amount like Rs 100 for organizing amenities.

Now with this opportunity with , I should be able to meet many more photographers, videographers and filmmakers. I am excited that I will be able to teach again continuously. I am looking forward to your support.

I thank all my friends and teachers who have been my support system.
