2025 was a test of patience, time management, and staying adaptable in a fast changing security tech landscape. Sharing a few honest notes for anyone in video surveillance, VSaaS or security SaaS who had a similar ride and relate to the mood of this year.
A different side of success:
There are always memes mocking LinkedIn for highlighting only success, but this year revealed how messy and non-linear success really looks from the inside. Every scroll threw up a new perspective on career paths, pivots, and how people are quietly rebuilding after setbacks. For us, LinkedIn is more of a Pandora’s box of strategies, experiments, and real talk about what “moving forward” actually means.
When compliance shook the industry:
- With STQC compliances coming into force during the initial phase of the financial year, the CCTV and surveillance ecosystem had to pause, rethink, and realign. The mandatory frameworks for cameras had pushed every serious player to revisit product lines, certifications, and market plans.
- Inventory buffers, model choices, and sales strategies were no longer regular business. Coordination with OEMs became critical just to stay relevant and available in time for the new timelines.
Vertical focus and new forays:
- NBFCs, Healthcare, and Warehousing verticals continued to be strong, familiar ground, with steady demand for robust, compliant surveillance and monitoring infrastructure.
- The exciting twist was a deeper foray into Retail security on a pan-India scale, where shrinkage, loss prevention, and store analytics are driving adoption of smarter CCTV and integrated security solutions.
Real traction in VSaaS and AI Analytics:
- VSaaS and AI video analytics moved from deck buzzwords to serious line items in conversations, RFPs, and pilot projects, as more clients explored cloud-first video and intelligent monitoring.
- From smart cities to multi-site enterprises, AI powered analytics and cloud platforms are now seen as enablers of threat detection, business intelligence, and centralised control.
People, teams and quiet wins:
- Employee management in the services industry has never been easy. Attrition, expectations, and up-skilling are constant juggling acts for our industry. Still this year brought in brilliant additions who strengthened delivery and process.
- The evolved learning is to balance hiring, retention and morale while the external environment kept shifting with new standards and technologies.
Stepping into 2026:
With all energy we are striding into the new year with a simple intention, to welcome the next wave of regulations, technologies, and market shifts with the same mix of patience, curiosity, and ex*****on. The security tech space is only going to get more demanding and that is exactly where the opportunities are.
