Excited to announce our recent certification from the United Nations on Circular Economy! 🌍 Embracing the urgent need for sustainable consumption and production, I'm equipped to deconstruct cycles, drive circular value in business, and envision thriving, sustainable cities. Let's build a future where everyone lives better, lighter, and in harmony with our planet.

Reimagining Textile Waste - A collaborative initiative by Fashion for Good, Canopy, Laudes Foundation, and IDH.

The textile industry faces challenges, particularly in the informal and disorganized textile waste value chain. India accumulates substantial quantities (7.7 million metric tons) of textile waste, both domestically generated and imported, yet lacks comprehensive traceability.

They have vividly illuminated the subject with perfection; I can't thank them enough for such a knowledgeable conference. Looking forward to a wonderful collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Exactly a year ago, on December 1st, India initiated the inaugural G20 Deputies Gathering - commencing discussions on India's designated Finance Track priorities, carefully formulated through internal ideation, examination of G20 historical works, and thorough stakeholder engagement. This has consistently been the approach throughout the Presidency: meticulous groundwork followed by extensive involvement to fulfill a globally resonant and transformative agenda.

Yesterday, in a Workshop co-led by UNDP in India & Ministry of Economic Affairs on Advancing , they directed an intellectual hub for efficient domestic efforts on a tangible pathway.

Linear Loop!!

Yes, you heard it right, It’s a Linear Loop. We are following it so intensively that we forgot how potent and hazardous it is for our ecosystem. In Textile Industries, environmental issues originate during manufacturing and extend to the final product. For example, the textile sector consumes one-tenth of all industrial water to operate plants and clean goods.

Recycled clothes reduce the landfill space. Landfill sites pose a threat to the environment and water supplies. When it rains, water drains through the discarded clothes and picks up hazardous chemicals and bleaches. Textile made from synthetic fibres will not decompose quickly whereas fabrics like wool releases methane, during decomposition and both fibres ultimately cause global warming.

According to the World Bank, textile dyeing is responsible for at least 20% of water pollution. Therefore, there is a dire need for more environmentally friendly, sustainable textiles.

Do you know, 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic is enough to circulate the Earths' equator 425 times.

Why we have to heave discarded plastic into our oceans. Ocean waste and derelict fishing gear, also known as "ghost gear"—damage delicate ecosystems and harms aquatic wildlife, which has knock-on effects further along the food chain. It's an environmental issue that's seen exponential growth for decades.

Its time to swipe it in right direction.

Being oblivious to our sea and marine life situation isn't right, we do need to recognise the Ocean's right. Precisely said "For The Ocean, For Life On Earth". Let's make some real noise, to protect and restore the ocean that gives us all life.

A petition-filing has been initiated by which will be presented to the United Nations General Assembly in September 2023. Let's save our oceans and marine ecosystem from plastic debris.

We promote reduction, reuse and recycling of plastic waste to achieve .

Its time to unfold the unseen reality.

Our marine ecosystem is in danger. Our seas are getting contaminated with abandoned plastic debris. From PET scrap bottles to ear buds plastic stick, incongruous plastic items now ubiquitous in our seas.

Currently, 8 million tonnes of plastic end up in the world’s oceans every year and if we gauge this travesty until 2050, it will mean that our oceans could contain more plastic than fish.

We promote reduction, reuse and recycling of plastic waste to achieve circular economy.

So, what kind of equation you want to solve, linear or circular?
