Course Outline would be as follows-

Module 1: Getting Started (The Foundation)
​Introduction to Open Source: The history of Unix vs. Linux, the GPL license, and why Linux powers the world (servers, mobile, IoT).
​Distribution (Distro) Selection: Understanding the families—Debian (Ubuntu/Kali), Red Hat (RHEL/CentOS/Fedora), and Arch.
​Installation Lab: * Setting up a Virtual Machine (Oracle VirtualBox/VMware).
​Installation from scratch: Disk partitioning (MBR vs. GPT), Swap space, and Filesystem selection (Ext4, XFS).
​The Linux Desktop: Overview of GUI environments (GNOME, KDE) vs. the Command Line Interface (CLI).

​Module 2: The Command Line Essentials
​Navigation: Using pwd, ls, cd, and pushd/popd.
​File Manipulation: Creating, copying, moving, and deleting (touch, mkdir, cp, mv, rm).
​Reading Files: cat, less, head, tail, and watch for real-time monitoring.
​The Power of Vim/Nano: Mastering text editors to modify configuration files.
​Getting Help: Mastering man pages, --help, and whatis.

​Module 3: System Administration & Permissions
​Users and Groups: Creating and managing accounts (useradd, groupadd, usermod).
​The Root User: Understanding sudo vs. su and the /etc/sudoers file.
​Linux Permissions (DAC): * Read, Write, Execute (rwx).
​Numerical vs. Symbolic notation (chmod 755 vs chmod +x).

​Module 4: Storage & Process Management
​Storage Management: * Mounting drives and the /etc/fstab file.
