Dear friend Asma Jeelani has passed away, and it cuts deeply personal.
She was one of the most beautiful souls I’ve known, lit from within, warm, kind, and effortlessly genuine. Blessed with a smile that carried honesty and a presence that had a quiet, rare elevating grace.
What always stayed with me was the openness of her mind, her deep, intuitive understanding of the core of Kashmiri identity, often expressed through her knowledge of Lal Vakhs and the Shaivite roots that shaped her thought and being. Time spent with her always felt rare and meaningful.
Kashmir has lost one of its most radiant spirits, and I have lost a friend I will truly miss. May God bless her soul.
