Essar Oil And Gas Limited, Essar Group's upstream business, has been awarded five new CBM blocks across West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana. The contracts were signed in the presence of the Hon’ble Minister of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri ji.

The new blocks add ~1,281 sq. km. of acreage, with estimated gas-in-place resources of 6.6 TCF.

One of India’s leading CBM producers, currently accounts for nearly 50% of India’s production and aims to contribute 5% of the country’s natural gas production by progressively developing its portfolio and unlocking additional domestic gas resources.
