An Arduino based robot "Sub1" using six stepper motors, two webcams and ofcourse a brilliant mind solved one of the most famous and difficult puzzles of all time - The Rubik's Cube
Working of the Bot explained-
"
The robot uses modified speed cube that is scrambled by a computer generated random array before being positioned in the robot. As soon as the start button is triggered, shutters are removed from two webcams, which each captured an image of three sides of the cube. These are relayed to a laptop, which identifies the various colors and calculate a solution using "Tomas Rokicki's implementation of Herbert Kociemba's two-phase algorithm.
"
Just for the record- if you are familiar with the solving of this amazing puzzle at advanced level you would probably have heard of the Two-Phase Method. It is said to be the OPTIMAL SOLUTION for Rubik's Cube.
Anyways we congratulate Mr. Adam Beer to make this awesome innovation and mark his name in Guinness Book of World Records.

A new robot made by an industrial engineer has solved a completely scrambled Rubik's Cube in less than 1 one second. Powered by Arduino, Sub1 uses a solution..

This is just the beginning.
These Micro-"Tug" robots from the Biomimetics and Dexterous Manipulation Laboratory at Stanford University did not only demonstrate what tiny robots are capable of doing, but also act as a mechanical model for ANT behavior.

6 of these 100gm tiny bots pulled a 1800 kg car.

Not only are ants impressively strong, they are also amazing team players. This research inspired by such teamwork examples how the ways that microrobots mov...
