SMA Middle East and Africa welcomed representatives of the electricity authority and the city administration of Duhok in Kurdistan as well as the Technosat Company in Dubai and presented innovative technologies for a more climate-friendly energy supply.
The SMA experts conducted a demonstration training on the installation and commissioning of Sunny Tripower Core 2 inverters, which will be installed in Kurdistan's first solar park. This is located on the premises of the University of Duhok - UoD and is funded by the United Nations Development Program - UNDP.

Locally generated, climate-friendly energy is a prerequisite for the success of the energy transition.
In Le Prés, Saint-Genest-Malifaux, in the Loire department in France, SIEL-Territoire d'énergie Loire is now operating a brand new PV plant. 12 Sunny Highpower PEAK3 solar inverters, together with around 5,100 solar modules, provide 2.5 gigawatt hours of solar energy annually. With this amount, 1,020 households can cover their power consumption (without electric heating).
Good to know: No forest was cleared or agriculture stopped for the solar power plant. It stands on 2 hectares of formerly derelict municipal land which was only used to store material for work on the adjacent national road.
