Udupi Power Corporation Limited is a 2 * 600 MW thermal power project at Udupi District, Karnataka, and is the first independent power project in India using 100% imported coal as fuel, and operating its own jetty at New Mangalore Port Trust. This plant is situated right between the cities of Mangalore and Udupi next to the enchanting beauty of the Western Ghats, a mountain range spanning five states and bordering the west of the Deccan Plateau.
