You are what you eat and your recovery is a function of the food you eat.

Here are some foods that can aid your gut health and recovery post an antibiotics course:

1. Yogurt - Yogurt is probably the most popular probiotic and for good reason. It's made when good bacteria are added to milk, where they metabolize lactose to form lactic acid and other beneficial microbes.

2. Almonds - Almonds help in increasing the production of a short-chain fatty acid known as butyrate. This provides fuel for cells in the colon lining, promoting gut health.

3. Raspberries - Raspberries are a rich source of polyphenols and potent antioxidants that keep your gut microbes healthy.

4. Bananas - Green bananas (the unripe ones) are best for the gut because they contain resistant starch, a type of indigestible fiber that produces more beneficial bacteria when your microbes feed on it.
