🌱 In this episode, we meet János Gulyás, an advisory plant specialist at the Southern Growers Cooperative in Szegvár, Hungary (The Árpád group), who also manages a small-scale garden focused on brassicas. Earlier in his career, he worked with peppers in soil-based cultivation, giving him valuable experience in both traditional and soilless growing systems.
Today, his work focuses mainly on soilless cultivation, where soil-related issues are largely eliminated. However, growers still face significant challenges from environmental conditions, insect pests, and fungal diseases.
Within the cooperative, János is actively involved in ongoing trials with biostimulants, comparing their performance to identify the most effective solutions for growers. With increasing climate variability and constant plant stress, he highlights the importance of regularly supporting plants with these products.
He frequently recommends our product Trainer, applied as a foliar spray, often combined with foliar fertilizers. While foliar feeding plays a complementary role, he emphasizes that the root system remains the plant’s primary pathway for nutrient uptake.
