One the left Salmonella typhimurium
It can be differentiated from the normal enteric microbiota by 3 reactions:
Fermentation of xylose
Decarboxylation of lysine
Production of hydrogen sulfide ( black center of the colony)

On the right Escherichia coli fermenting lactose and so it change pH of the medium and produce Yellow colonies
