A National Partnership for a More Sustainable Future
In a step reflecting the importance of national partnerships in addressing climate change and advancing sustainable development, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Cities and Villages Development Bank (CVDB) and the J-TRAECE project development consortium, in the presence of HRH Princess Basma bint Ali, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Hashemite Fund for the Development of Jordan Badia and founder of the Royal Botanic Garden.
The MoU was signed by CVDB Director-General Dr. Waseem Al-Haddad and J-TRAECE consortium representative Ahmad Al-Tabakhi, in the presence of Hashemite Fund Director Ayesh Qatarneh, Royal Botanic Garden Director-General Eng. Mohammad Shahbaz, and Ain Min Al-Sama founder HE Akram Khreis.
The J-TRAECE consortium brings together Ain Min Al-Sama, the Royal Botanic Garden, and the Hashemite Fund for the Development of Jordan Badia, combining expertise in technology and innovation, smart agriculture, biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration, and local community empowerment.
The project aims to develop an integrated national model to strengthen the Jordan Badia's resilience to the impacts of climate change, through supporting regenerative agriculture, sustainable rangeland and natural resource management, rainwater harvesting, improved livestock productivity, and local community empowerment and capacity building. The project will also deploy digital technologies and solutions, alongside solar energy solutions, contributing to reduced emissions and operating costs.
The MoU marks an important step towards developing bankable climate projects and mobilizing climate finance, supporting water and food security, ecosystem restoration, local community empowerment, and Jordan's efforts to build a more resilient and sustainable future.
We believe that strong partnerships and local innovation are the foundation for developing sustainable solutions that respond to climate challenges and create lasting impact.
شراكة وطنية نحو مستقبل أكثر استدامة
في خطوة تعكس أهمية الشراكات الوطنية في مواجهة التغير المناخي وتعزيز التنمية المستدامة، تم توقيع مذكرة تفاهم بين بنك تنمية المدن والقرى وائتلاف مشروع J-TRAECE، بحضور سمو الأميرة بسمة بنت علي، رئيس مجلس أمناء الصندوق الهاشمي لتنمية البادية الأردنية ومؤسس الحديقة النباتية الملكية.
ووقع مذكرة التفاهم مدير عام بنك تنمية المدن والقرى الدكتور وسيم الحداد، ومفوض عن ائتلاف (J-TRAECE) السيد أحمد الطباخي، بحضور مدير الصندوق السيد عايش القطارنة، ومديرعام الحديقة النباتية الملكية المهندس محمد شهبز ومؤسس شركة "عين من السماء" سعادة السيد أكرم خريس.
ويضم ائتلاف J-TRAECE كلًا من شركة عين من السماء، والحديقة النباتية الملكية، والصندوق الهاشمي لتنمية البادية الأردنية، في شراكة تجمع بين التكنولوجيا والابتكار، والزراعة الذكية، وحماية التنوع الحيوي، واستعادة النظم البيئية، وتمكين المجتمعات المحلية.
ويهدف هذا المشروع إلى تطوير نموذج وطني متكامل لتعزيز قدرة البادية الأردنية على التكيف مع آثار التغير المناخي، من خلال دعم الزراعة التجديدية، والإدارة المستدامة للمراعي والموارد الطبيعية، وحصاد مياه الأمطار، وتحسين إنتاجية الثروة الحيوانية، وتمكين المجتمعات المحلية وبناء قدراتها، وذلك بتوظيف الحلول والتقنيات الرقمية الى جانب الاعتماد على حلول الطاقة الشمسية بما يسهم في خفض الانبعاثات والتكاليف التشغيلية.
وتشكل مذكرة التفاهم خطوة مهمة نحو تطوير مشاريع مناخية قابلة للتمويل واستقطاب التمويل المناخي، بما يدعم الأمن المائي والغذائي، واستعادة النظم البيئية، وتمكين المجتمعات المحلية، وتعزيز قدرة الأردن على بناء مستقبل أكثر مرونة واستدامة.
نؤمن بأن الشراكات الفاعلة والابتكار المحلي يشكلان أساسًا لصناعة حلول مستدامة تستجيب لتحديات المناخ وتخلق أثرًا طويل الأمد.
