日東工作所の原点 【治具（冶具）（考え方）】について数回に分けてご紹介します①
当社代表・更谷雄三が、機械加工や治具・専用機に関するセミナー、またロータリーエンジンの開発秘話などをお話しする際、必ず触れるテーマがあります。それが 「治具」 です。治具に対するこの考え方は、当社創業者・更谷 勇の創業当時から受け継がれてきたものです。日東工作所における機械加工の原点ともいえる“考え方”です。治具にはさまざまな種類がありますが、その中でも日東工作所が特に得意としてきたのが、機械加工用の 保持治具 です。
長年にわたり現場で培ってきた治具の設計・製作の経験は、日東工作所の 精密機械加工（受託）【機械の加工事例はこちら https://www.nitto-mfg.com/me_jp/】 や 専用機の設計・製作（受託）【専用機・治具の等の事例はこちら　https://www.nitto-mfg.com/jig_jp/】、ロータリーエンジン開発【ロータリーエンジンはこちらhttps://www.nitto-mfg.com/rotaryengine_jp/ 】 へと受け継がれています。
代表の更谷雄三は、講演会や技術セミナーで日東工作所の治具の考え方を説明する際、先ず最初に 「治具とは（定義）」 から話を始めます。
治具とは、「加工や組み立ての際に、ワークを正しい位置に固定し、作業のガイド（案内）をするための補助器具」のことです。この定義を起点として、日東工作所では、【何故、治具が重要なのか】【治具の工夫が加工精度や能率にどのような影響を与えるのか】といった考え方が形づくられてきました。
次回以降は、セミナーや講演会で実際に紹介している事例も交えながら、日東工作所のものづくりの考え方を、順を追ってご紹介していきます。
